ABOUT THIS TEST

The Tibia & Fibula X-Ray is a diagnostic imaging test used to assess the two long bones of the lower leg. It provides clear images to help investigate lower leg pain, swelling, deformity, or injury following trauma or ongoing symptoms. 

This scan is particularly helpful for identifying fractures, stress injuries, bone alignment issues, or other structural abnormalities affecting the lower leg. It supports accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment planning. 

Suitable for individuals with lower leg injuries, suspected fractures, persistent pain, or difficulty weight-bearing.

2. How is the scan performed?

In Clinic:
You will be positioned standing or seated against the X-ray plate
The X-ray machine is positioned in front of or behind the chest
You may be asked to take a deep breath and hold it briefly
The procedure is painless and typically takes 5–10 minutes
At Home (Home Visit):
A radiographer visits your home with portable X-ray equipment
The scan is performed in the same way as in clinic, where clinically appropriate .
